Here is a birllitantly acurate quote from a page that I have mentioned in the past.
: "Amen sister.
Everybody Loves Raymond is perhaps the worst mainstream show ever to be endorsed by and free-to-air channel.
It stuns me to think that a TEAM of writers actually have to work to come up with the tardy witticisms that come out of that family’s mouth.
Woman: Were you playing golf?
Man: I like golf, lets have sex.
Woman: Have sex with golf.
And that was probably of higher quality than the actual show. If this is any reflection on the tasted of contemporary society... Shame.

Everybody Kicks Raymond
This latest link is to a guys page who is commenting on how annoyed he is that other people my judge him poorly due to his taste in comedy, in this case Family Guy (a genuinely funny and clever program), I quote from his page:
“I get it that you don't like Family Guy. You think it's stupid. Immoral. Politically wrong. Idiotic. Whatever. But that does not make the people who like the show less intelligent than you. It doesn't make you somehow smarter to say things like "Oh, my. Your taste in television sure is stupid. Pardon me while I go watch Everybody Loves Raymond." Are you really so smug in your superiority that you judge a person's intellect or worth by their sense of humour?”
I disagree, to you can judge the intelligence of a “Raymond” viewer quite easily. Retarded (no offence meant to people who actually are retarded, I am sure they have better taste) .

Another “Raymond” hate forum. Well, its not specifically a “Raymond” hate forum, its about the Emmy’s but it amounts to the same thing.
Well done to the Americans who do think its utter crap, you give me a glimmer of hope.

While doing my normal Google for “everybody loves Raymond shit” I was quite surprised to come across http://www.patriciaheatononline.com/ ,it’s a fan site to Patricia Heaton who plays the nagging, shrewish, two dimensional housewife, not too sure why she would need a fan site, but anyhoo.
There is a very interesting article on it entitled “why does everybody love “Raymond”?”, and I have to say that’s a bloody good question. Unfortunately they waste an opportunity to take the piss out of the dullards that watch this program by sticking there noses up the arse of “Raymond” Creator Phil Rosenthal.
There is one question and answer that I find very telling:
It also seems like the jokes on "Everybody Loves Raymond" don't interrupt the flow of action.
Right. If they do, we take them out. We work on the jokes last.
That explains why it isn’t funny, I cant see where he answers the questions explaining why its so unoriginal and hackneyed.
Patricia Heaton Online:: Why does everybody love "Raymond"?
Heres a nice little quote from a blog I came across in my travels
"Fuck Everybody Loves Raymond. Gee, this was supposedly 'the most popular comedy on TV,' yet I don't know one fucking person who watched it. At least people might shut the fuck up about it now that it's off the air. Suck my cock, Ray Romano. I hate you."
The Blog Of A Loner:
This is a really tough one, what’s better Seinfeld or Everybody Loves Raymond. It’s a bit like saying, what’s better, burning to death or drowning.
I suspect that if you got all the people who engaged in the debate on this page in to a room and asked them for there opinion on something that really mattered, you would just get a room full of blank stares.

Blogcritics.org: Everybody Loves Raymond must be banned:
Its a well balanced article that comments on how this show may be responsible for America dumbing down. Bellow are some of the comments that people left, I find them to be genuinely freighting.
"I love the show. I think it's funny. I don't really care about the 'levels of consciousness' of people in sitcoms -- if I did, I'd move to France."
Particularly this one, *shudder*
"what a waste of time you are,you could be complaining about the extreme sexual content on tv or some of the sleazy networks pushing homosexuality, these things do have impact on children you were talking about people not thinking, thinking is analyzing both points of view and willing to change yours [edited]!"
I have now activated the comments feature on this page, please feel free to leave a comment, mention how you think Everybody loves ramyond is fucking shit if you want to.
I got the link bellow from the following site. Its worth reading to get a better idea of what the world thinks about Raymond. This page is from an Australian. On network 10 in Oz, they play Raymond the same way that Sky play the Simpson’s, i.e. constantly. I dare not even think how horrible that must be.
what's new, pussycat? - Everybody Kicks Raymond"
I have come across an absolute gem of a website, ChristianAnswers.net. One of the vital services that this provides is to be a moral barometer on TV shows. On this page Good Christian Folk™ can rate how moral TV shows are, (from avoid to always OK) and explain why they think this. On this page they turn there attentions to my current pet hate, Everybody Loves Raymond. Now, for those that haven’t seen this program, it is enormously bland. Bland to the point of absurdity, nothing happens in it. Even a paranoid daily mail reader would be hard pressed to find anything to be shocked at.
But, I guess if you want a job done properly you need to get the experts in, Right wing, conservative, Christian Americans. Now, these guys get offended at the drop of a hat, if they don’t sped ant least 4 hours a day being offended they go to bed feeling like they wasted the day. Bellow are some choice excerpts from the page:
Avoid -- This is a very funny show. From Ray's meddling parents to the over-competitiveness of his brother makes the show hilarious. So why should it be avoided? Well, it is based on a earlier episode when Ray accidentally freezed Allie's hamster. While the entire family was searching for closure for Allie, Ray's father took a blatant shot at Christianity. To say "holy crap" is bad enough, but to curse the Word of God, the Holy Bible, is completely unacceptable. I think every Christian who saw this episode would have been appalled and disgusted. --Jay Carr, age 35
Personally, I think we should find the producers house, and firebomb it. Its only fiar.
Questionable -- Family has bad attitudes....caustic and unloving towards each other. No respect...not a good example of any kind of good family life. --Cal, age 58
Oh, My, God. What would happen to the world if we al saw programs where people behaved in such a way with each other, it’s the thin end of the wedge, for sure.
Usually OK -- This is one of the few sit-coms on TV that you can actually sit down and watch without having to change the channel every minute. I really enjoy watching this show, but like every show it has its pros and cons. Some topics that they deal with aren't always great and they could leave out bedroom scenes. I would recommend this show to anyone who wants to watch a family comedy. --Erin, age 13
A 13 year old, who wants to see less bedroom scenes. We are going to have to send in the SAS to rescue this poor tyke form the clutches of the evil cult, they have obviously been brain washed. Mind you , its worth pointing out that the bedrooms scenes are exactly that. Two people in a bed room. Basically, you see a bed, not even enough to make a vicars hat fly off.
Anyway, have a read, it’s a real hoot.
